I own a 2005 Nitro
640. Its over 16' long and has a 60 horsepower motor, which allows for two guests to fish very comfortably on this boat.
The reason behind the wrap…. This is a tough subject to discuss for me. I guess the best way to explain this is that all in all Cystic Fibrosis sucks. Every person with CF can have variations of the disease. Some cases are milder and people can live into the 40's and 50's. Sadly there are more severe cases and those people may not live past their teens. All of us suffer this entire time with the disease. Seeing the disease worsen and having your own personal abilities decrease year after year is horrible. The disease has physical and emotional toll on patients and their families. As of today I take over 15 medications, my lung function is only at 35% of normal, and I weigh 105 lbs and it takes me nearly 4,000 calories a day to maintain this weight. In a blink of an eye, I could get a lung infection and die. This goes for almost every patient with CF.
I have a never give up mentality and that's why I do what I do. I am blessed to have this disease and make a positive impact for the disease. That's why I created this wrap…to remember and honor current people with CF and those that have lost their battle. There are over 80 names of people with CF on this boat. Many people a still living active lives and make a positive difference in the world and they need to be honored. They are not giving up, they continue everyday to fight, and that needs to be known. Unfortuately, several names are enclosed with angel wings because they have lost the battle, but again these are people that didn't let the disease stop them from living so it is a honor for me to remember them. Many of these people participated in studies that have created medications I currently take that keeps me going.
Like I said it's a tough subject to put into words so check out my memorial page to learn about those with CF and check out the video of the wrap.
